Bilingual education and special language programs must be located in the regular public schools of the district rather than in separate facilities.
Students enrolled in bilingual education or a special language program shall be placed in classes with other students of approximately the same age and level of educational attainment. The school district shall ensure that the instruction given each student is appropriate to the student’s level of educational attainment, and the district shall keep adequate records of the educational level and progress of each student enrolled in the program.
The maximum student-teacher ratio shall be set by the agency and shall reflect the special educational needs of students enrolled in the programs.Added by Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 260, Sec. 1, eff. May 30, 1995.
