Lamar County
(a)
The Lamar County Juvenile Board is composed of:(1)
the county judge;(2)
the statutory county court at law judge;(3)
the district judges in Lamar County; and(4)
one member of the commissioners court selected by and from among the members of the commissioners court.(b)
The juvenile board shall elect one of its members as chairman at its first regular meeting of each fiscal year. The board shall hold regular meetings each year on dates set by the board and special meetings at the call of the chairman.(c)
Service on a juvenile board by a judge is an additional duty of office. The commissioners court may pay the board chairman and other board members additional annual compensation for the additional duties imposed on the chairman and the other board members. The compensation shall be paid in equal monthly installments from the general fund or any other available fund of the county.(d)
The juvenile board shall recommend to the commissioners court proposed salaries for juvenile probation officers and other juvenile probation employees. The commissioners court shall set the salaries of juvenile probation officers and other juvenile probation employees after considering the recommendation of the juvenile board and any other relevant factors, including the source of funds, the duties and workload of the employees, and the effect on other county employees. The commissioners court shall comply with all applicable laws when setting the salaries of juvenile probation officers and other juvenile probation employees.(e)
Sections 152.0002 (Board Meetings), 152.0004 (General Expenses), 152.0005 (Expenses of Board Members and Juvenile Court), 152.0006 (Fiscal Officer), 152.0007 (Duties), and 152.0008 (Personnel) do not apply to the juvenile board of Lamar County.
