Jefferson County
(a)
The juvenile board of Jefferson County is composed of the county judge and the district and criminal district judges in Jefferson County.(b)
The juvenile court judge is the chairman of the board and its chief administrative officer.(c)
The commissioners court may pay the county judge on the juvenile board additional annual compensation set by the commissioners court at not more than $5,000 as compensation for the administrative and judicial services performed by the judge. The compensation shall be paid in equal monthly installments from the general fund of the county.(d)
The juvenile board may require a juvenile probation officer or facility superintendent to obtain a surety or personal bond in an amount determined by the board, conditioned on the faithful performance of the person’s duties, and approved by the board.(e)
The juvenile board may suspend or remove a juvenile probation officer at any time for good cause. The chief probation officer, with the approval of the board, may suspend or remove an assistant probation officer for good cause after the assistant is notified and afforded an opportunity to appear before the board.(f)
Sections 152.0002 (Board Meetings), 152.0003 (Compensation), 152.0005 (Expenses of Board Members and Juvenile Court), 152.0006 (Fiscal Officer), 152.0007 (Duties), and 152.0008 (Personnel) do not apply to the juvenile board of Jefferson County.
