Cameron County
(a)
The juvenile board of Cameron County is composed of the county judge, the district judges in Cameron County, and the judge of each county court at law.(b)
The commissioners court shall pay the members of the juvenile board additional annual compensation of $4,500, payable in equal monthly installments from the general fund of the county. The commissioners court shall pay the members an additional $75 per month for performing the additional duties prescribed by Sections 152.0372 (Cameron County Institutions) and 152.0373 (Collection and Disbursement of Support Payments in Cameron County).(c)
The juvenile board shall hold meetings at least once every three months in accordance with board rules.(d)
The board shall keep records as required by law and board rules.(e)
A juvenile probation officer shall take the oath of office when appointed and the oath and the fact of the appointment shall be filed with the county clerk.(f)
The juvenile board may require a juvenile probation officer or facility superintendent to obtain a surety or personal bond in an amount determined by the board and conditioned on the faithful performance of the person’s duties.(g)
The juvenile board may suspend or remove a juvenile probation officer at any time for good cause. The chief probation officer, with the approval of the board, may suspend or remove an assistant probation officer for good cause after the assistant is notified and afforded an opportunity to appear before the board.(h)
Sections 152.0002 (Board Meetings), 152.0005 (Expenses of Board Members and Juvenile Court), 152.0006 (Fiscal Officer), 152.0007 (Duties), and 152.0008 (Personnel) do not apply to the juvenile board of Cameron County.
