A petition for creation of a district shall be accompanied by a deposit of $50, and if the district is to be composed of more than one county, the deposit shall be $75.
The deposit shall be paid to the clerk of the commissioners court and the clerk shall use the deposit to pay all expenses incident to the hearing on the petition. The clerk shall pay the expenses with vouchers approved by the county judge.
If any of the deposit is left after the expenses are paid, the clerk shall return the excess to the petitioners or their attorney.Acts 1971, 62nd Leg., p. 110, ch. 58, Sec. 1, eff. Aug. 30, 1971.
