“Essential need” means a need of a person for the operation of a motor vehicle:
in the performance of an occupation or trade or for transportation to and from the place at which the person practices the person’s occupation or trade;
for transportation to and from an educational facility in which the person is enrolled; or
in the performance of essential household duties.
“Ignition interlock device” means a device that uses a deep-lung breath analysis mechanism to make impractical the operation of a motor vehicle if ethyl alcohol is detected in the breath of the operator of the vehicle.Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 165, Sec. 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1995.
