Slaughter of Unbranded or Unmarked Livestock; Slaughter Without Bill of Sale


(a)

A person commits an offense if the person slaughters unbranded or unmarked livestock, or purchases or slaughters an animal without receiving a bill of sale or written transfer, in violation of Section 148.003 (Slaughter of Unbranded or Unmarked Livestock; Slaughter Without Bill of Sale) of this code.

(b)

An offense under this section is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than $50 nor more than $300.
