Tex. Agric. Code Section 148.025
Damages

A purchaser who fails to pay for livestock as provided by this subchapter or who artificially delays the collection of funds for the payment is liable to the seller of the livestock for the purchase price and:

(1)

damages in an amount equal to 12 percent of the purchase price;

(2)

interest on the purchase price at the highest legal rate from the transfer of possession until payment is made in accordance with this subchapter; and

(3)

a reasonable attorney’s fee for the prosecution of collection of the payment.
