Tex. Labor Code Section 91.006
Workers’ Compensation Coverage


(a)

A certificate of insurance coverage or other evidence of coverage showing that either a license holder or a client maintains workers’ compensation insurance coverage constitutes proof of workers’ compensation insurance coverage for the license holder and the client with respect to all covered employees of the license holder and the client. The state and a political subdivision of the state shall accept a certificate of insurance coverage or other evidence of coverage described by this section as proof of workers’ compensation coverage under Chapter 406 (Workers’ Compensation Insurance Coverage).

(b)

For a client that has employees who are not covered employees under a professional employer services agreement, the state or a political subdivision of the state may require the client to furnish separate proof of workers’ compensation insurance coverage for those employees.
