Tex. Human Resources Code Section 112.045
Executive Committee


(a)

The executive committee is the governing body of the office.

(b)

The executive committee is composed of nine members who have expertise in the field of developmental disabilities, of which three are appointed by the governor, three are appointed by the lieutenant governor, and three are appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives. Appointments to the executive committee shall be made without regard to the race, color, disability, sex, religion, age, or national origin of the appointees.

(c)

The members serve for staggered six-year terms, with the terms of three members expiring February 1 of each odd-numbered year. Executive committee members receive no compensation but are entitled to reimbursement of actual and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of their duties.

(d)

The governor shall designate a member of the executive committee as the presiding officer of the executive committee to serve in that capacity at the will of the governor.

(e)

The executive committee shall meet at least quarterly and shall adopt bylaws for the conduct of the meetings.

(f)

Any actions taken by the executive committee must be approved by a majority vote of the members present.

(g)

The executive committee shall establish policies and procedures to implement this subchapter.
