Obstruction or Retaliation

An offense under Section 36.06 (Obstruction or Retaliation)(a)(1), Penal Code, may be prosecuted in any county in which:

(1)

the harm occurs; or

(2)

the threat to do harm originated or was received.

Art. 13.38. VENUE FOR PROTECTIVE ORDER OFFENSES.
The venue for an offense under Section 25.07 (Violation of Certain Court Orders or Conditions of Bond in a Family Violence, Child Abuse or Neglect, Sexual Assault or Abuse, Indecent Assault, Stalking, or Trafficking Case) or 25.072 (Repeated Violation of Certain Court Orders or Conditions of Bond in Family Violence, Child Abuse or Neglect, Sexual Assault or Abuse, Indecent Assault, Stalking, or Trafficking Case), Penal Code, is in the county in which the order was issued or, without regard to the identity or location of the court that issued the protective order, in the county in which the offense was committed.
