Provisional License to Practice Veterinary Medicine
(a)
The board may grant a provisional license to practice veterinary medicine to an applicant who presents proof that the applicant:(1)
is licensed in good standing as a veterinarian in another state that:(A)
has licensing requirements substantially equivalent to the requirements of this chapter; and(B)
maintains professional standards the board considers equivalent to the professional standards of this chapter; and(2)
has passed a national or other examination recognized by the board relating to veterinary medicine.(b)

A provisional license is valid until the date the board approves or denies the provisional license holder’s application for a license. The board shall issue a license under this chapter to a provisional license holder if:(1)
the provisional license holder passes the licensing examination under Section 801.253 (Licensing Examinations for Veterinarians);(2)
the board verifies that the provisional license holder has the academic and experience requirements to qualify for a license; and(3)
the provisional license holder satisfies any other license requirement under this chapter.(d)
The board shall complete the processing of a provisional license holder’s application for a license not later than the 180th day after the date the provisional license is issued.
