Tex. Health & Safety Code Section 282.077
Bond of County Judge

(a)

When the bonds are registered, the county judge shall execute a good and sufficient bond, approved by the board and payable to the board, for an amount not less than the amount of the bonds issued. The bond must be conditioned on the faithful performance of the judge’s duties.

(b)

If the bond is executed by a satisfactory surety, the district may pay from the district construction and maintenance fund a reasonable premium on the bond on receipt of an invoice for the premium. If the amount of the premium is disputed as unreasonable, a court of competent jurisdiction may determine whether or not the premium is reasonable.

(c)

The board may charge the cost of the bond premium against the commission allowed the county judge on the sale of district bonds.
