Bonding of Seized Vehicles Pending Suit


Any person with an ownership or a security interest in a vehicle that has been seized under Section 103.03 (Seizure of Illicit Beverages, Etc) may recover possession of the vehicle pending suit for forfeiture by executing a bond with surety equal to double the appraised value of the vehicle. The bond shall be approved by the officer who made the seizure and shall secure the return of the vehicle to the custody of the seizing officer on the day of trial of the forfeiture suit.
