Term Limitations
(a)
A member of the board may be reappointed except as provided by this section.(b)
An individual may not serve more than eight years on the same board and may not be appointed to a term for which service to the completion of the term would exceed this limitation. This subsection applies only to a board of an authority:(1)
in which the principal municipality has a population of more than 1.9 million or less than 320,000; or(2)
created before 1980 and in which the principal municipality has a population of less than 1.9 million.(c)
An individual may serve two terms as presiding officer under Section 451.502 (Appointment of Members)(e)(3), in addition to any service on the board before being appointed under that subsection. This subsection does not apply to an individual serving on the board of an authority described by Subsection (b) or an authority confirmed before July 1, 1985, and in which the principal municipality has a population of less than 1.3 million.(d)
A term limitation provided by this section does not apply to service on the board by a holdover pending the qualification of a successor.
