Tex. Transp. Code Section 1001.013
Performance of Certain Department Functions by Authorized Business


(a)

The executive director of the department may authorize a business entity to perform a department function in accordance with rules adopted under Subsection (b).

(b)

The board by rule shall prescribe:

(1)

the classification types of businesses that are authorized to perform certain department functions;

(2)

the duties and obligations of an authorized business;

(3)

the type and amount of any bonds that may be required for a business to perform certain functions; and

(4)

the fees that may be charged or retained by a business authorized under this section.
