Tex. Spec. Dist. Local Laws Code Section 8246.101
Municipal Utility District Powers; General Powers

(a)

The district has and may exercise the powers, functions, duties, and privileges provided by general law applicable to a municipal utility district, including those conferred by Chapters 49 (Provisions Applicable to All Districts) and 54 (Municipal Utility Districts), Water Code.

(b)

The district may exercise the rights, privileges, and functions provided by this chapter.
