Sec. § 1069.117
Reimbursement for Service


(a)

The board shall require a county, municipality, or public hospital located outside the district to reimburse the district for the district’s care and treatment of a sick or injured person of that county, municipality, or public hospital as provided by Chapter 61 (Indigent Health Care and Treatment Act), Health and Safety Code.

(b)

The board shall require the sheriff of a county or the police chief of a municipality to reimburse the district for the district’s care and treatment of a person confined in a jail facility of the county or municipality who is not a district resident.

(c)

The board may contract with the state or federal government for that government to reimburse the district for treatment of a sick or injured person.
