Continuing Medical Education Requirements


(a)

The physician assistant board by rule shall adopt, monitor, and enforce a reporting program for the continuing medical education of license holders. The physician assistant board shall adopt and administer rules that:

(1)

establish the number of hours of continuing medical education the physician assistant board determines appropriate as a prerequisite to the renewal of a license under this chapter;

(2)

require at least one-half of the hours of continuing medical education established under Subdivision (1) to be approved by the physician assistant board; and

(3)

adopt a process to assess a license holder’s participation in continuing medical education courses.

(b)

The physician assistant board may require that a specified number of continuing medical education hours be completed informally, including through self-study and self-directed education.
