Tex. Ins. Code Section 1811.055
Request for Documents in Lieu of Certificate of Insurance

A person may not require an agent or insurer, either in addition to or in lieu of a certificate of insurance, to issue any other document or correspondence, instrument, or record, including an electronic record, that is inconsistent with this chapter.
