Tex. Health & Safety Code Section 593.003
Requirement of Determination of an Intellectual Disability

Except as provided by Sections 593.027 (Emergency Admission), 593.0275 (Emergency Services), and 593.028 (Respite Care), a person is not eligible to receive intellectual disability services unless the person first is determined to be a person with an intellectual disability.
