Rights of Person Admitted to Voluntary Inpatient Treatment
A person described by Section 574.151 (Applicability) who is admitted to the inpatient mental health facility for voluntary inpatient mental health services has all of the rights provided by Chapter 576 (Rights of Patients) for a person receiving voluntary or involuntary inpatient mental health services.
A right assured by Section 576.021 (General Rights Relating to Treatment) may not be waived by the patient, the patient’s attorney or guardian, or any other person acting on behalf of the patient.Added by Acts 2001, 77th Leg., ch. 1309, Sec. 1, eff. June 16, 2001.
