Tex. Transp. Code Section 644.152
Civil Penalty


(a)

A person who does not permit an inspection authorized by Section 644.104 (Inspection of Premises) is liable to the state for a civil penalty in an amount not to exceed $1,000.

(b)

The attorney general may sue to collect the penalty in:

(1)

the county in which the violation is alleged to have occurred; or

(2)

Travis County.

(c)

The penalty provided by this section is in addition to the penalty provided by Section 644.151 (Criminal Offense).

(d)

Each day a person refuses to permit an inspection described by Subsection (a) is a separate violation for purposes of imposing a penalty.
