Fines


(a)

In addition to other costs, the court shall order a person convicted of a misdemeanor under this subtitle to pay a fine of $3.

(b)

The officer who collects a fine under this section shall:

(1)

deposit in the municipal treasury a fine collected in a municipal court case; and

(2)

deposit in the county treasury a fine collected in a justice court case or in a county court case, including a case appealed from a justice or municipal court.

(c)

In this section, “conviction” has the meaning assigned by Section 133.101 (Meaning of Conviction), Local Government Code.
