Peace Officers

(a)

The executive committee may establish a security force and provide for the employment of security personnel.

(b)

The executive committee may commission an employee of a security force established under Subsection (a) as a peace officer.

(c)

A peace officer commissioned under Subsection (b), except as provided by Subsection (e), has all the rights, privileges, obligations, and duties of any other peace officer in this state while on the property under the control of the authority or in the actual course and scope of the officer’s employment.

(d)

A person commissioned under Subsection (b) must give an oath and make bond for the faithful performance of the officer’s duties as the executive committee may require. The bond shall be filed with the executive committee and made payable to the authority. The bond must be approved by the executive committee.

(e)

A law enforcement power granted under this section is subordinate to the law enforcement power of a municipality in which the power is attempted to be exercised.
