Composition of Board; Terms

(a)

The district is governed by a board of not more than two directors for each county in the district. The board may change the total number of directors on the board if the district annexes territory.

Sec. 8839.001. DEFINITIONS.In this chapter:

(1)

“Board” means the district’s board of directors.

(2)

“Director” means a board member.

(3)

“District” means the Gateway Groundwater Conservation District.

Sec. 8839.002. DISTRICT TERRITORY.The district’s boundaries are coextensive with the boundaries of Foard and Hardeman Counties unless the district’s territory has been modified under:

(1)

Subchapter J (Adding Land by Petition of Landowner), Chapter 36 (Groundwater Conservation Districts), Water Code; or

(2)

other law.

Directors serve staggered four-year terms.
