Executive Director
(a)
The board may employ an executive director and set the executive director’s salary and other compensation by a majority vote of all the qualified directors.(b)
The executive director is the authority’s chief executive officer.(c)
Under policies the board and the executive committee establish, the executive director is responsible to the board and the executive committee for:(1)
administering the directives of the board and the executive committee;(2)
keeping the authority’s records, including minutes of meetings of the board and the executive committee;(3)
coordinating with state, federal, and local agencies;(4)
developing plans and programs for the approval of the board or the executive committee;(5)
hiring, supervising, training, and discharging the authority’s employees, as authorized by the board or the executive committee;(6)
contracting for or retaining technical, scientific, legal, fiscal, and other professional services, as authorized by the board or the executive committee; and(7)
performing any other duties assigned to the executive director by the board or the executive committee.(d)
The board may discharge the executive director by a majority vote of all the qualified directors.
