Construction Contracts


(a)

The district may award a construction contract that requires an expenditure of more than $5,000 only after publication of notice to bidders once each week for two weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in the district that is designated or approved by the board.

(b)

The notice is sufficient if it states:

(1)

the time and place for opening the bids;

(2)

the general nature of the work to be done or the material, equipment, or supplies to be purchased; and

(3)

the place where and the terms on which copies of the plans and specifications may be obtained.
