Adding or Removing Territory


(a)

The board may add or remove territory under Subchapter J (Adding Land by Petition of Landowner), Chapter 49 (Provisions Applicable to All Districts), and Section 54.016 (Consent of City), Water Code, except that the addition or removal of the territory must be approved by the owners of the territory being added or removed.

(b)

A reference to a tax in Subchapter J (Adding Land by Petition of Landowner), Chapter 49 (Provisions Applicable to All Districts), or Section 54.016 (Consent of City), Water Code, means an ad valorem tax.

(c)

Territory may not be removed from the district if bonds or other obligations of the district payable wholly or partly from ad valorem taxes or assessments levied or assessed on the territory are outstanding.
