Qualifications of Directors


(a)

To be qualified to serve as a director appointed under Section 3871.051 (Governing Body; Terms)(a)(1), a person must be at least 18 years old and must be:

(1)

a resident of the district who is also a registered voter of the district or a registered voter who lives within a two-mile radius of the district;

(2)

an owner of property in the district;

(3)

an owner of stock, whether beneficial or otherwise, of a corporate owner of property in the district;

(4)

an owner of a beneficial interest in a trust that owns property in the district; or

(5)

an agent, employee, or tenant of a person covered by Subdivision (2), (3), or (4).

(b)

Section 49.052 (Disqualification of Directors), Water Code, does not apply to the district.
