Composition; Terms

(a)

Except as provided by Subsection (c), the district is governed by a board of 31 voting directors appointed under Section 3820.052 (Appointment of Directors) and nonvoting directors as provided by Section 3820.053 (Nonvoting Directors).

(b)

Voting directors serve staggered terms of four years, with 15 or 16 directors’ terms expiring June 1 of each odd-numbered year.

(c)

The board by resolution may decrease the number of directors on the board if the board finds it is in the best interest of the district. The board may not consist of fewer than five directors.
