Reimbursement for Services

(a)

The board shall require a county, municipality, or public hospital located outside the district to reimburse the district for the district’s care and treatment of a sick or injured person of that county, municipality, or public hospital, as provided by Chapter 61 (Indigent Health Care and Treatment Act), Health and Safety Code.

(b)

The board shall require the sheriff of Colorado County or the police chief of the City of Eagle Lake, as applicable, to reimburse the district for the district’s care and treatment of a person who is confined in a jail facility of Colorado County or the City of Eagle Lake and is not a district resident.

(c)

The board may contract with the state or federal government for that government to reimburse the district for treatment of a sick or injured person.
