Tex. Local Gov't Code Section 399.015
Contract for Collection of Assessments; No Personal Liability


(a)

The governing body of a local government may contract with the governing body of another taxing unit, as defined by Section 1.04 (Definitions), Tax Code, or another entity, including a county assessor-collector, to perform the duties of the local government relating to collection of assessments imposed by the local government under this chapter.

(b)

A county assessor-collector who performs the duties of a local government relating to collection of assessments imposed by a local government under this chapter is not personally liable as a result of exercising those duties under this chapter.
