Tex. Ins. Code Section 826.002
Authority to Convert to Stock Insurance Company

(a)

A mutual insurance company may convert to a stock insurance company.

(b)

A converting company may not engage in the business of insurance as a stock insurance company until it complies with the requirements of this chapter.
