Tex. Ins. Code Section 822.201
Applicability of Capital and Surplus Requirements

The capital and surplus requirements of this chapter apply to each insurance company or other entity, other than a farm mutual insurance company, authorized to write property and casualty insurance in this state including:

(1)

a county mutual insurance company;

(2)

a mutual insurance company, other than a mutual life insurance company;

(3)

a Lloyd’s plan; and

(4)

a reciprocal or interinsurance exchange.
