Tex. Ins. Code Section 651.004
Employment of Examiners and Investigators; Payment of Expenses

The department may:

(1)

employ persons as necessary to examine or investigate and make reports on alleged violations of this chapter and compliance with any other provision of this code by a license holder;

(2)

pay the salaries and expenses of persons described by Subdivision (1) and of all office employees; and

(3)

pay an expense necessary to enforce this chapter.
