Tex. Human Resources Code Section 243.002
Establishment of Minimum Length of Stay

(a)

The department shall establish a minimum length of stay for each child committed to the department without a determinate sentence.

(b)

In establishing a minimum length of stay for a child, the department shall consider:

(1)

the nature of and seriousness of the conduct engaged in by the child; and

(2)

the danger the child poses to the community.
