Tex. Health & Safety Code Section 85.142
Adoption of Policy


(a)

Each state and local law enforcement agency, fire department, emergency medical services provider, municipal and county correctional facility, and district probation department shall adopt a policy for handling persons with AIDS or HIV infection who are in their custody or under their supervision.

(b)

The policy must be substantially similar to a model policy developed by the department under Section 85.141 (Model Policies Concerning Persons in Custody).

(c)

A policy adopted under this section applies to persons who contract or subcontract with an entity required to adopt the policy under Subsection (a).
