Tex. Health & Safety Code Section 614.0032
Special Duties Related to Medically Recommended Supervision; Determinations Regarding Mental Illness or Intellectual Disability

(a)

The office shall:

(1)

perform duties imposed on the office by Section 508.146 (Medically Recommended Intensive Supervision), Government Code; and

(2)

periodically identify state jail felony defendants suitable for release under Article 42A.561 (Medical Release), Code of Criminal Procedure, and perform other duties imposed on the office by that article.

(b)

The office shall approve and make generally available in electronic format a standard form for use by experts in reporting competency examination results under Chapter 46B (Incompetency to Stand Trial), Code of Criminal Procedure.

(c)

The office shall approve and make generally available in electronic format a standard form for use by a person providing a written report under Article 16.22 (Early Identification of Defendant Suspected of Having Mental Illness or Intellectual Disability)(a)(1)(B), Code of Criminal Procedure.
