Tex. Fin. Code Section 392.402
Criminal Penalty


(a)

Except as provided by Subsection (d), a person commits an offense if the person violates this chapter.

(b)

An offense under this section is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than $100 or more than $500 for each violation.

(c)

A misdemeanor charge under this section must be filed not later than the first anniversary of the date of the alleged violation.

(d)

This section does not apply to a violation of Section 392.307 (Collection of Certain Consumer Debt by Debt Buyers).
