Tex. Fam. Code Section 102.001
Suit Authorized; Scope of Suit

(a)

A suit may be filed as provided in this title.

(b)

One or more matters covered by this title may be determined in the suit. The court, on its own motion, may require the parties to replead in order that any issue affecting the parent-child relationship may be determined in the suit.
