Tex. Local Gov't Code Section 293.030
Law Affecting Certain Contracts

The board, in connection with a contract for construction or for purchase of equipment and material that requires expenditure or payment of $2,000 or more, shall comply with Subchapter C, Chapter 262 (Purchasing and Contracting Authority of Counties).
