Closing of Gulf Beaches


(a)

The commissioners court of a county in which a public beach is located may by order close a part of the beach for a maximum of three days each year to allow a nonprofit organization to hold an event on the beach to which the public is invited and to which the organization charges no more than a nominal admission fee.

(b)

In this section, “public beach” means a beach located on a bay or inlet of the Gulf of Mexico to which the general public or a substantial part of the general public has free access.
