Additional Requirements: Access by Emergency Vehicles

(a)

This section applies only to a residential subdivision that is subdivided into 1,000 or more lots in the unincorporated area of a county.

(b)

The commissioners court shall adopt infrastructure standards requiring at least two means of ingress and egress in the subdivision to provide for sufficient routes of travel for use by emergency vehicles and for use during evacuations resulting from fire or other natural disasters.

(c)

This section does not limit the authority of a commissioners court under other existing laws, as applicable, to adopt infrastructure standards that are more stringent than standards required by this section.
