Tex. Local Gov't Code Section 152.073
Penalty


(a)

A person who is a county official and who is in charge of the sheriff’s department or is responsible for setting the compensation provided by Sections 152.071 (Classification of Positions; Salary Schedule) and 152.072 (Petition to Increase Salaries) commits an offense if the person violates Section 152.071 (Classification of Positions; Salary Schedule) or 152.072 (Petition to Increase Salaries).

(b)

An offense under this section is punishable by a fine of not less than $10 or more than $100.

(c)

Each day on which the county official causes or permits a violation of this section to occur is a separate offense.
