Tex. Local Gov't Code Section 1.005
Definitions

In this code:

(1)

“General-law municipality” means a municipality designated by Chapter 5 (Matters Affecting Public Officers and Employees) as a Type A general-law municipality, Type B general-law municipality, or Type C general-law municipality.

(2)

“Home-rule municipality” means a municipality designated by Chapter 5 (Matters Affecting Public Officers and Employees) as a home-rule municipality.

(3)

“Municipality” means a general-law municipality, home-rule municipality, or special-law municipality.

(4)

“Special-law municipality” means a municipality designated by Chapter 5 (Matters Affecting Public Officers and Employees) as a special-law municipality.
