Tex. Health & Safety Code Section 592.020
Independent Determination of an Intellectual Disability

A person for whom a determination of an intellectual disability is performed or a person who files an application for a determination of an intellectual disability under Section 593.004 (Application for Determination of an Intellectual Disability) and who questions the validity or results of the determination of an intellectual disability has the right to an additional, independent determination of an intellectual disability performed at the person’s own expense.
