Powers of Attorney
(a)
A person entitled to payment of an annuity or other benefits administered by the retirement system may direct the retirement system to treat as the authorized representative of the person concerning the disposition of the benefits an attorney-in-fact under a power of attorney that complies with Subsection (b).(b)
The system must honor a power of attorney executed in accordance with Subchapters A and B, Chapter 752 (Statutory Durable Power of Attorney), Estates Code.(c)
If the power of attorney is revoked, the retirement system is not liable for payments made to or actions taken at the request of the attorney-in-fact before the date the system receives written notice that the power of attorney has been revoked.
