Tex. Gov't Code Section 665.022
Procedure When Senate Is in Session


(a)

If the senate is in a regular or called session when articles of impeachment are preferred by the house, the senate shall receive the articles when they are presented. The senate shall set a day and time to resolve into a court of impeachment to consider the articles.

(b)

The senate may continue in session as a court of impeachment beyond the end of the session for legislative purposes or may adjourn as a court of impeachment to a day and time set by the senate.
