Tex. Gov't Code Section 496.052
Insurance

(a)

The board may purchase insurance to protect the department from loss due to the damage, loss, theft, or destruction of department aircraft.

(b)

Insurance purchased by the board under this section must be on a form approved by the State Board of Insurance.
